Good Dramas For Teens To Perform?
The drama club at school is in the planning stages for the spring play, and we're having a meeting tomorrow to choose a play to perform. It's been agreed that we are DEFINITELY going to do a modern drama with a small cast, but we don't really have any good ideas. So far some suggestions are The Laramie Project and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, but those plays might not be the best to perform- The Laramie Project will be difficult to stage and perform without the audience getting bored, and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof has the potential to seem dated and will have to be heavily edited to make it even borderline PG-13.
Help! We need ideas for tomorrow, and we're stumped! For the past four years (at least) all we've done is period comedies, so we don't want to get in over our heads, but we also don't want to put on a play that is actually a comedy with a few dramatic elements thrown in.

Why a drama? Try Noises Off or a modern version of Tartuffe. The Nerd works as well, but, if you're looking for more dramatic works, I'd recommend Arthur Miller- especially All My Sons, a very riveting piece with a very small cast. I'd also recommend anything Mamet, but that would be tough to clean up for a high school audience.
