I read what Adobe have in its website about fireworks but is not clear to me what really fireworks is.... can you explain it to me. thanks.

it is basically an advanced image editor, - lots of features and an excellent programme once you work out what everything does

Fireworks 8 is latest of the fireworks graphics design software from Adobe. Its used to design and develop computer graphics, web pages and even to some extent animation. It usually comes with the adobe studio suite,however you may be able to buy it direct from adobe.com.
Other graphics design software are corel draw, photoshop...e.t.c
