How to get a Subcontractor in with General Contractors?

We have a steadily raising landscaping company, with good GC's but are having problems getting our foot in the door with new GC's. Anyone have any good suggestions?

Try to contact the GC's estimator and set up a meeting to provide your quote to them and you'll also need to provide references and perhaps photos of completed jobs.

Source(s): I'm a GC and that's the only way I'll accept a new subcontractor. Must have fair and reasonable prices along with references.

HI iM a subcontractor and I deal with gcs all the time. the best way is in person (no phone calls) I started out calling and was not successful so i started showing up on a job site and introducing myself. Take their lead though dont stand and chat 20 min if they are busy. Be very considerate tell them you d love to do a free estimate for them and would love for them to consider your work I have found that personality pays off! Be professional and likeable that s as much the battle as your work is- the other is obviously do a great job!!! Best wishes

Have you tried calling them to request a qualifying form or to be put on their bid lists.........I would suggest doing that and try to get to the estimating department but remember receptionists are the keepers of the gate....be really nice to them and you can just about get what you want.
