Pain Management?
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management7 years ago2004 Pontiac Grand Prix Cylinder 3 Misfire?
I have a reoccurring cylinder 3 misfire on a 3800 Series 3 V6 Engine (non turbo charged). I have changed the spark plugs, wires, coil pack, and the ICM already and the misfire continues to happen. I've swapped the coil pack positions and the misfire remains with cylinder 3 so I know it is not a faulty coil pack right out of the box. I also changed the fuel injector for that cylinder with no change. Also swapped injector positions and the problem remains on cylinder 3. The engine runs perfectly fine whether idling, slow, regular traffic or hammering on it. It does have 200,000 miles on it though. I had replaced the head gaskets a while back because one had went bad and caused that famous super mosquito sprayer effect with the white smoke (LOL). The cylinder 3 misfire was present prior to doing the head gasket work so it is not something I've done on accident that would be causing this. The engine was stalling out sporadically for a period of time and that was fixed by cleaning the throttle body. It was sticking because it was gummed up in there pretty badly.
Has anyone else ever ran into this problem with a cylinder misfire that cannot be cleared and have you been able to resolve it? It doesn't necessarily have to be this exact issue, on the same cylinder, only the same symptom of a reoccurring cylinder misfire that cannot be cleared.

2 AnswersEntertaining8 years agoHealth Insurance Up Front Payment?
I've paid $300 of the $2,000 "deductible and out of pocket" maximum amount for 2013 so far. Does anyone know if a doctor/hospital can say I have to pay $1,500 dollars up front for a surgery and tell me that it's because I haven't met the maximum "deductible and out of pocket" amount for 2013 yet? If it were true that I had to pay all of the deductible and out of pocket expense before the insurance would pay anything then why wouldn't they tell me I had to pay the $1,700 difference? It shows on my schedule of benefits that my highest payment I should have to make up front is $300. I would actually pay nothing if I would be at the maximum amount for the year. At that point the insurance would pay 100%. The doctor and hospital are both in network providers so there is no coinsurance payment required either so the $1,500 payment up front seems highly ridiculous and incorrect. Just 3 1/2 years ago I had a similar surgery performed with the same doctor and at the same hospital. I had the same exact insurance plan back then as I do now and all I paid up front was $300. I seriously think someone is making up their own rules and trying to pull a fast one over on me. Any thoughts, or better yet, proof that I am correct?

Are the Winchester XP3 and the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip rounds basically the same thing or is there a considerable difference between the two? Which would you prefer to use for deer hunting with typical shots in the 150-200 yard range (fairly open, non brushy lanes)?

What is the part that comes out of the intake manifold (secured to intake with 2 bolts on the passenger side next to the carb) that come out with 2 tubes and goes to the carb? One goes to a connection on the top backside of the carb wipth a rubber tubing connection and the other connects to what I believe is the bottom backside of the choke with a threaded connection? I removed the part from the intak and the part that extends into the intake is a coil tubing about 1" wide and 2 1/2" long. I need to know the name of this part so I can get a replacement as the one I have has one of the tubes that are broken off.

3 AnswersHonda1 decade ago2002 Honda Accord SE O2 Sensor #1 Heater Failure Code?
I have replaced the O2 Sensor, first with an after market sensor and then with one from the dealer. This code keeps coming back up within seconds of starting the car. Is there possibly a fuse somewhere (if so, where is it) that also needs to be checked/replaced for the heater element of the O2 Sensor to work properly? It is a 4 cylinder. There are 2 sensors. Sensor 1 is the one in the front (before the catalytic converter). Sensor 2 is the one on the back of the engine (after the catalytic converter). The code number is P1167. Specific Description: HO2S Sensor 1 Heater Failure. I have disconnected the battery and I have also reset the code with a diagnostic scanner but the code will not stay off. It just keeps coming back on. 36531-PAA-305 is the correct Honda part number of the sensor that I installed.

3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHate the Cat?
A man absolutely hated his wife's cat and decided to get rid of him one day by driving 20 blocks from the house and leaving the cat at the park.
As he was getting home, the cat was walking up the driveway.
The next day he decided to drive the cat 40 blocks away. He let the beast out of the car and headed home.
Driving back up his driveway, there was the cat!
He kept taking the cat further and further, but the feline would always beat him home. At last, he decided to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, cross the bridge, then right again, and make another right until he reached what he thought was a safe distance from his home and left the cat there.
Hours later, the man calls home: "Jen, is the cat there?"
"Yes," the wife answers, "why do you ask?"
Frustrated, the man answers, "Put that SOB on the phone. I'm lost and need directions!"

Three Engineers are debating the issue of who would be more likely to build the human body. One starts by saying that with all of the body's levers and joints a Mechanical Engineer would have been most likely. The second argued that an Electrical Engineer would have made the human body with all of its electrical impulses throughout the nervous system. The last one smirked before saying that it was obviously a civil engineer, who else would have put a recreation center so close to a major waste disposal site.
4 AnswersJokes & Riddles1 decade agoEdelbrock Performer HI-TORQ 9.0:1 - Chevy 350 Engine?
I just purchased one of these crate engines and I'm currently putting all the fittings, parts, bells and whistles on it. The main question I have is: There are 2 open ports on the water pump. There is one on the left side that is for the heater hose. There is another one on the top of the water pump that I believe can be plugged off, however there is a threaded hole in the front of the intake manifold that is the same size as the holes on the water pump. This leads me to think that I am not supposed to plug those holes but instead install the water inlet fittings and run a 5/8" hose there. Has anyone ever dealt with this before? Do I need to put the fittings and hose or can I plug them off?
4 AnswersChevrolet1 decade ago2000 Chevy Silverado C3500 w/ 454 engine?
Water Pump seems to be fine (just replaced it). The thermostat is opening and closing like it should. Temperature is fine at idle and at operating speeds.
There is no return coolant coming back out of the heater core.
What would cause this to happen?
3 AnswersChevrolet1 decade ago2000 Chevy Silverado C3500 with a Vortec 454?
I recently had to change out my waterpump. There aren't any leaks and everything is hooked back up correctly. The problem I have ran into is that now the heater don't work. Could the thermostat have gotten stuck closed? The temperature guage reads normal just as it always had but the heat isn't working.
