I think you're getting Harry Potter confused with Star Wars.

I never thought about a father/son relationship. When Voldemort tried to kill Harry, he marked him and also inadvertently passed him his own traits. So it looks like Harry has two fathers. He has James' looks but Voldemort's parseltongue, and who knows what all else exactly. Also, the fact that Voldemort attacked Harry shaped his life even more than James did. Harry is now world famous, has freaky powers even for a wizard, and he's been destined to kill someone since he was a year old. James gave him a name, genetics, and a relationship with Dumbledore. But he would've had Dumbledore even without James, because Harry would have been noticed being The Boy Who Lived and all, thanks to Voldemort.

It would appear that they do, but that is just the powers that were accidentally given to Harry from that scar Voldemort gave him. No, Harry's dad is James Potter. I think I saw an interview saying that Snape or Voldemort are not his dad, said by Rowling, but I don't remember.

None there right now and I don't for a second think that they're father and son. Would put too ugly a look on his happy family memories and pose too many questions for a final book.

I wouldn't be surprised though if Voldemort tried it though to lure Harry to the 'Dark Side'.

That would be interesting. You would have to look, though, at parallels in the "Star Wars Universe". Do you want Lord Voldemort to be killed like Darth Vader was? Would that make any sense for a man with no soul to turn good before he dies?

what father/son relationship, there wasn't one, voldermort tried to kill harry a few times so that show's that there isn't a father/son relationship there, and if you want a father/son relationship try sirius black and harry potter, or arthur weasley and harry potter, or dumbledore and harry potter, or hagrid and harry potter.

Rowling always drops hints to build plots and there are plenty here.

In the memory scene Lily dislikes James but has a soft spot for Snape. James emerges as more and more of an idiot but Snape has hidden depths and Dumbledore has obscure but definite reasons to trust him.

It would explain Snapes bitterness (denied access to his son, rejected by Lily whom he then turned on calling her 'mudblood' and such like).

The magical protection of the Dursleys is through Lily's familly, so there is nothing to link James by magic or blood there.

There is the matter of looks and Harry looks like James in the photographs but another character has dark floppy uncontrolable hair...

Harry's aquisition of the potion book was serendipitous was it not? Surprising how adept he became when properly shown...

I could go on...

PS I think Dumbledore is not dead and that 'murder' in the Astronomy Tower was a spell to make him seem dead (like the South American Tree Frog toxin or Curare) and Snape acted because he knew others were about to kill him for real, casting the fake Avada Kedavra aloud but the real spell silently (he is an expert Occlumens remember) whilst deceiving all around as to his true intentions. He is now back in Voldemorts fold as an embedded agent, fully trusted again...

Oh wow, I love the question and I have to admit that it has crossed my mind, along with Snape, but as it's supposed to be a children's book, I'll be very surprised if JR writes it that way.
