Christianity contains the true teachings of Jesus Christ. Christendom takes the teachings of Christ and corrupts them. For example: Jesus taught that his Father, Jehovah, is the only true God. ( John 17:3) He also said his Father is greater than he is. (John 14:28) Christendom twists that around and either makes Jesus equal to God or they make Jesus God himself.
Jesus taught his followers to love their enemies. Those in Christendom have participated in some of the world's bloodiest wars.
Jesus taught his followers to "go and make disciples of all the nations." (Matt. 28:19 20) The clergy of Christendom is happy just to have people attend their churches so they can get money from their followers.
Christendom is apostate Christianity.

Christendom is the false image of Christianity. True Christianity was established by christ and his appostles. If you can find a group that believes, teaches, and acts in accordance with the scriptures as a whole, just as these men did, you have found the true faith. The great mass of so-called christians with their many denominations and versions and hypocrisies and deceptions that is fooling the whole world, this is Christendom. This is the drunken harlot that will fall from the beast (nations, governments) and be devoured. There are few (christians) that choose the right path but the whole world (the majority is christendom) is lying in the power of the wicked one.

Most of the atheists here on R&S appear to lose their faith because of simple scientific incongruity with Biblical writings. Educated people know that the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old and that it took several billion years to form. That is patently inconsistent with the idea that God created the Earth and the universe in a mere seven days. Apologists who argue that a 'day' in God's perspective is not necessarily the same length as a day in human perspective are perceived to be copping out--and I think they are. From the opinions I have seen expressed, atheists get very wrapped up in the scientific inconsistencies between science and the Bible and don't get into the deeper essence of religion, which is the simple sense of love and onenes with the universe. They think that religion is destructive and harmful--and, in many cases, they are absolutely right. But they do not make the leap forward into seeing how deeply beautiful religion can be. If you strip away all the man-made trappings of religion and simply immerse yourself in the core of it, which is love, you'll find faith, and you'll understand that God is not what the clergy would make it. Just my opinion, anyway. :)

Christendom would be the place that Christians should inherit if and when they get judged worthy. True Christianity involves the act of following the doctrine or teachings of Christ and not simply paying lipservice to him. In other words, many may claim to be Christian but few walk the walk.

Christianity are the members of the Body of Christ, the Church. The people who are trusting Jesus and the work He did for them on the cross to satisfy the judgment of God and at their death bring them to Himself. Christendom is an area of the world there the Church is dominate, mostly the western world... Jim

Great question! Christendom would be that confusing political system full of conflict and contradiction and questionable history. Christianity would be a blessing in the heart.
