    DO:

    - Get Wasted

    - Blackjack

    - Craps

    - Watch your spending

    - Take in a show or two

    DON'T

    - Drink booze while you gamble

    - Play the slots (worst odds)

    - Drink & drive (NV DUI laws are harsh)

    - Possess or do drugs (NV drug laws are harsh)

    - Go to the ATM indiscrimantly

Check www.vegas.com. It can give you information on shows, dining, spas, and attractions (some of which are free). The casions are a lot of fun. Just be careful. DON'T PUT YOUR PURSE DOWN! Keep it in your sight at all times. If you can, take a small cute purse that can go across your shoulder or even a bag that goes around your waist like a belt. Make sure you have your ID with you at all times as well. They will card you. It's OK to have a few drinks. Just make sure that you are always with a friend and don't get too wasted. For a good inexpensive lunch or early dinner, try Jimmy Buffet's Margarita Ville. It's on the strip right next door to The Flamingo. They also have really good drinks. Get in some shopping, and if possible, visit the spa at the hotel you're staying in. Even if you don't have a service, you should be able to use the sauna, steam room, etc., for a small fee. Usually around $25-$35.

    Have a great birthday!

You are so lucky. I wish I was still a Vegas virgin and planning my first trip.

Don't tire yourself early on in the trip. This is very easy to do, btw. Before you go get lots of sleep, drink lots of water, and eat lots of veggies.

Go to Nightclub.com and get your cheap or free club passes. We did that and got in free to several places.

There are places to buy deeply discounted same-day show tickets. There are service fees for each ticket, but you still pay a lot less than you would if you bought them in the regular way.

We saw a few shows. Fantasy at Luxor was good, Fashionistas at Alladin was bad, Zumanity at New York was okay.

At night park valet if you have a car. You pay only two dollars to the driver as a gratuity. Park yourself in the hotel garages during the day.

    Don't:

-Gamble more than you can afford

-Play Keno - that game has THE worst odds to the player - slots are better, blackjack has the best player odds

-Drink while gambling, or if you do, drink SLOWLY

-forget to tip your waitstaff and game dealer

-try to tip the hotel staff to get a better room or an usher to get a better seat at a show - these things are often determined by a computer and the person has little control

    DO:

    -have fun

-people watch (that's often entertainment in and of itself)

    - join the players' club - ESPECIALLY at the hotel you're staying in if you plan to gamble - you might get something comped if you play enough

    -whatever interests you

-if you want an upgraded room or better seats at a show, ask - sometimes they can help you.

    my own opinion:

do: go see the "bodies" exhibit. its actual people

and the titanic exhibit. i've been dying to go... (damn, no pun intended)

do see the canal in the venetian. its crazy, an indoor canal!

do pack warm clothes, it's COLD at night. (like 30's)

and kind of chilly during the day. maybe 60's.

go to paymon's hookah lounge on maryland parkway, at flamingo. the area looks shady, but its a great place. fantastic food, great atmosphere. and hookah's!!!!

if you dont have jack in the box where you live, go there. and in-n-out.

bellagio water show is interesting and only takes up like 5 minutes.

do not: try to get a prostitute. it is in fact ILLEGAL IN CLARK COUNTY

do not walk around fremont street. stay in the tourist area on fremont. and go see the berlin wall in the mens bathroom at the main street casino. (ok thats a "do")

dont play slots, unless its video poker. then you have a slight chance

dont do buffet unless it the rio carnaval buffet. its worth the $30 for dinner.

dont try to hail a cab on the strip. they arent allowed to pick up passengers unless its in a designated area.

don't forget that it gets windy in las vegas!

    have fun.

    Do

    - See a show. See cirque de soliel. I loved KA.

    - Eat. Spago in Cesar's is good. Bellagio has the best buffet ever!

    - Go to a nightclub. Light in the Bellagio was cool too.

    - People watch. Very interesting.

Don't Gamble too much. Don't get too tanked.
