Nurse Certification?

I'm thinking of possibly becoming a nurse, but was wondering what kind of education they look for? I have a Bachelors in Sociology. I'd like to maybe work in the ER or in the pediatrics department of the hospital. Is there a certification that I can get that doesn't require much more schooling? Please no advertisers, I won't respond to them, thanks!

    You didn't really say, but..

To be an RN, there are two options:

    1) Associate degree; usually 2-3 years.

    2) Bachelors degree; 4 years

    - advantage : better chance at advancement, further training

In your case, I'd talk to a local nursing school. You'll need more science than you likely have.
