Refrigerator install of water dispenser tube?
My husband is trying to install the water dispenser tube on the back of the refrig. and is using saddle slef piercing valves. They keep leaking not a lot just about a drip every 5 minutes or so. What has he not done or done to cause this and how does he fix it? We had it hooked up before and it worked fine had to unhook it to install new flooring.
It also is leaking at the base of the refrigerator where the tubing is attached. This is a compression fitting

tighten the packing nut it the nut that the stem from the handle passes through about a quarter to a half a turn should be enough don't forget to hold the pipe the saddle valve is attached to for support while tightening

If the leak comes from the nut attached to the fitting first try tightening it just a little more always use two wrenches one for the nut and one for the fitting. If that doesn't work use one or two wraps of Teflon tape.If its leaks from around the tubing you will need a new Ferrell its the ring that's pressed around the tubing. On the inside of the fitting.
