I warmed my daughter's formula in the bottle in the microwave. Microwave uses a physical (not chemical) process by making the molecules of the formula move faster under the micro waves, same results produced by heating in hot water. It doesn't change the nutrients in formula. The formula doesn't need to be really warm, just slightly warmer then the room temperature, so you end up warming it up for only a few seconds. But ! make sure that the bottle is not hot for a baby and stir formula in the bottle slightly so that the warmer parts of formula will mix with colder parts. Don't shake it too hard, it will result in air being captured in the formula which your baby will consume, and air results in gas.

I microwave the water in the bottle then add the formula then give it a good shake which prevents the hot spots. That way theres no chance of the formula being harmed by the microwave.

Warming bottles in the microwave, as far as I know, doesn't harm the nutrients. However, something in the plastic of the bottle does release toxins into whatever is in the bottle (same thing with like soda bottles being left in the heat and whatnot). Perhaps warming it in something not plastic??

I don't know about harming the nutrients, thou i have heard that before, but it is not recommend warming a bottle in the microwave because it can cause hot spots in the formal that can burn your child. any doctor will tell you not to do that, instead warm it in a container full of warm water for a few minutes.

I don't know about harming the nutrients, but it can harm your baby! You should not warm your babies milk/formula in the microwave. Since it does not heat the fluid equally, you can get "hot spots" and your babies mouth can get burned. Just warm the milk/formula in a cup of hot water for a couple of minutes... it's much safer!

The microwave KILLS ALL NUTRIENTS in all food/beverage.

You should NEVER feed your kid anything from the microwave.
