What are the 5 key items for a professional woman's wardrobe?

A nice black pantsuit. A black skirt. A navy pantsuit and a navy skirt. Ok. so that is six two suit jackets, two pairs of pants and two skirts. But FIVE is impossible.

I'm a shoppaholic and shouldn't be answering this question!

But thrift stores are a great and inexpensive way to build a professional wardrobe. When I was just out of college I did it, looked great and saved a ton of money. You do have to search and pick through things - I would only buy the best labels but for pennies!

And no one would ever know!

My top 5 items would be ..........

1) A navy or black pencil skirt or pinstrip pants

(macys has cute ones!)

2) A lot of flats

(they are functional and pretty)

3 )Solid color tops (ex. a pretty lacy cami)

4) A handbag that doubles as a brief case

(these bags should be big and stylish !!!!!)

5)Last but no least a cute blazer or button down cover up for wearing over camis and shirts

(try to match the blazer with pants or skirt!

1. Black Slacks (not butt tight club pants)

2. Blazer Jacket

3. Button down, collerd shirts

4. "Sensable" dress shoes

5. Conservative (not frumpy) skirt

It's okay to feel sexy while still in work cloths, but nothing to reveling. Black is always good, and with some fun shirts you can make some really great outfits with those things. Have fun!
