Red magick is used by those wishing to practice magick but who don't do so with the help of a deity or spirit, they follow rituals, perform spells, they get results and that is enough for them. Yellow magick is, ironically enough,an eastern style of magick,it is very complicated to explain(for more details see the book I mentioned) but essentially it is morally neutral(similar to grey magick). P.S. Red Magick is primarily a Norse-type magick, it is concerned with power (hence the color red) not religion or spirituality, but it can be either harmful or helpful in nature. I assure you I do not play Magic the Gathering or D&D and did not borrow my concepts from them.EDIT: Harro, please see Isaac Bonewits' Real Magic for a description of Yellow Magick, my faculties of philosophizing are better than average but I'm afraid I find it very frustrating to speak of Magickal Systems over the internet, damn near impossible to get my point across, and then there's always a point I feel I should have made but didn't.

Some practitioners would define them as....Red is war magick. Yellow or Gold is ego magick. Green is love magick. Blue is wealth magick. I know that breaks it down simplistically, but the uses are to numerous to go into in this forum. Have you tried looking on the web for info?

I have never heard of yellow, but the red kind is almost exclusively centered around different types of destruction. Red magick is particularly dangerous to anyone who doesn't come by it as a natural progression of their skills.

to me magick all comes down to intent.

but we do know that color can greatly influence a person's emotions. and magick is a very emotion drivven thing. so the color that you use to envision your magic may have great signifigance to you.

there are some concepts of Chaos Magick that deal with specifically colored magick. but i am not a chaos mage and am unqualified to speak of them.

according to A. Crowley: "* This doctrine of the Three Schools is of extreme interest. Roughly, it may be said that the White is the Pure Mystic, whose attitude to God is one of reverence. The Yellow School conceals the Mysteries indeed, but examines them as it goes along. The Black School is that of pure Scepticism"

I've only heard of red magic in role-playing games and Magic: the Gathering. Yellow magic, I am entirely unfamiliar with...

Methinks someone has probably played the aforementioned games too much.
