this is where economics comes in. the laws of demand and leverage. Paul Tagliabue was a really intelligent guy who knew how to run a business. the NFL network really is something that doesn't make a lot of money, with or without live NFL games on there. as everyone knows it seems they made the NFL network to try to gain leverage over other networks (in other words they are trying to make more of a profit off of other networks). yes this is very selfish from out points of view but eventually it will all work out. other networks don't want to lose great games that will bring in alot of people to watch (KC vs SD, CIN vs BAL) so they will eventually bid more for these games.

another thing the NFL network is trying to do by putting games on the NFL network is trying to start a demand for NFL network (that's why they put such good games on it).

Dish network now has NFL network as a base package, and it is causing competition between satellite and cable companies. if enough people demand NFL network, then it will force satellite and cable companies to give NFL network in their base package and basic cable in order to keep up with the competition.

yes the NFL is greedy (like most corperations) but im sure games will eventually be returned back to the networks. probably if the NFL network moves into basic plans, then the games will be sold back to the networks.

This is only the beginning. It won't be too long before ALL games are PAY PER VIEW ONLY. I gave up on the NFL a long time ago.....but not because of this. I got tired of watching games being decided by the 7 idiots wearing the stripes. Until the NFL hires full time officials, the integrity of the game is a stake. It's about as bad as boxing....it's all fake.

It seemed to me that they were really using last night's broadcast as a way to get more cable networks to carry their channel. They said numerous times during the broadcast something to the effect of, "If you're watching this game at a bar, or at a friend's house because you don't have the NFL Network, call your local cable carrier and tell them you'd like them to carry the channel." I heard it at least three times.

I like the idea of Thursday night football, and I have the NFL Network. However, I think they should have made the feed available in all markets via agreement with other channels. That's the case here in Canada - one of our national sports channels, TSN, had the game available across the country.

I really think this is a concerted effort to push their channel on cable carriers more than anything else.

up here in Canada, TSN has purchased the broadcasting rights to NFL network games..

but even worse, i have Sunday Ticket as well, an extra $30/month on my cable bill, yet still, i don't get to see games that are blacked out. even up here in Canada. they decided to black out the jax-buff game last week and the sd-buff game this week.. totally ridiculous..

i will be filing a complaint with the NFL and by cable company.. for a refund.

at the same time as i think of it is annoying to evaluate different gamers at different positions by having to have different skills and skills, if I had to compliment a participant i might pick Adrian Peterson. the guy is basically actually astounding. communities pastime plan to surrender him and that they are in a position to't. combine that with the fact that he got here returned from an ACL and basically approximately broke the only season rushing checklist in a time of throwing the ball for my area makes him between the terrific gamers interior the league. i might provide 2nd terrific to aaron rodgers or jj watt.

first of all, Thursday night games are another gambleling tie.. single out games and more money is put on the table. its a sad thing that they are doing to the game, but of course us the fans always get screwed.

No need. This nonsense will resolve itself. It profits them nothing to run games that no one watches. They'd rather sell those games to networks and get paid for them.

More power to them, who cares as long as you can watch your team and it's not blacked out.
