What is BeST product for coating old TIN Roof?

House is 100yrs old; not original roof, but old tin in decent shape. I pulled loose nails [replaced w/washeredscrews], flashed chimneys, patched holes, and recoated with Black Jack fibered aluminum roof coating over 15 yrs ago; It's time to re-do! Since it did a good job last time, I've looked for same, but cannot find the same product/BlackJack 5167. Our local Lowe's has "Silver Dollar" fibered aluminum roof coating, but how do I know if it's good enuf? [$42/5gal]. Plus, the roof is leaking!!! and when I get up there canNoT find anything that looks suspiciously like the culprit. Have been in the attic, tho not while it's raining...[the only true test time]; still, all indications are that the leak comes from the ridge cap or close to it. But up on the roof, it looks solid in this area. Any suggestions? If you know of a site that rates or reviews roof coatings [other than selling them], I would appreciate being apprised of same. Again, what's the best fibered aluminum coating?

Update:

What about "elastomeric" products? [They're white.]

TO: "it's my trade" guy - what "white" product do you suggest? Do you not suggest the petroleum-based fibered aluminum coating?

Thanks everyone ~ appreciate your replys!

I have used the silver colored stuff with the fiber added. In Oregon, and you know how much it rain there along the coast, I used to buy some white stuff, I think it was called Snow Coat, it flowed and was supposed to flow into spots that could cause leaks. Here in the Mid-west I have only found the silver tarry stuff with fiber. I put it on a travel trailer and it still leaked when it thawed after extremely cold weather. In Oregon I never had any problems with leaks using the Snow Coast. I either got it at the hardware, (Ace Hdwr) or Fred Meyers.

To find the leak go out and turn on your water hose on full with a trigger type water sprayer. Get someone to go in the attic while you are hosing down the roof. See if your person in the attic can spot the leak. You may get by with putting the coating on one or more nail heads. 15 years seems like a good coating.

There is still no substitute for good, old fashond tar.You can get it fibered and its cheap. Sometimes holes only show themselves during a rain so you'll have to watch when it does.

The water may also be traveling in from an unlikely spot.(I found one on a customers roof that was leaking from a seam 40ft. away from its point of manifest.

Most of the big names want you to spend $, you dont have to.

You can get it in a variety of hardnesses, some can be painted, some cannot. (I sugest white.)
