Are Cottonwood Trees valuable, If so, who buys them and what are they worth?

Are there any specs or requirements for being a certain length, circumference or diameter, or must they be straight?

Update:

It was my understanding that the Japanese use this wood for something and are willing to pay top dollar for possession. I have been informed of this on more than one occassion.

They are not worth a hoot.

Never plant or keep them and your happiness will be greatly improved.
