It was my understanding that the Japanese use this wood for something and are willing to pay top dollar for possession. I have been informed of this on more than one occassion.

THESE ARE QUICK GROWING, GOOD SHADE BUT ARE SHORT LIVED. THEY BLOOM IN THE SPRING. IS THE STATE TREE OF A COUPLE OF MIDWEST STATES

They are not worth a hoot.
Never plant or keep them and your happiness will be greatly improved.
