    yes they can't,

Many women suffer from extreme cramps, heavy bleeding, nausea, headaches, and other maladies during their cycle. It is truly a sign of the mercy of Allah Almighty that we are excused from prayer during this time. more than one sister who would be unable to perform the physical duties of the prayer during her cycle.

“No fatigue, nor disease, nor sorrow, nor sadness, nor hurt, nor distress befalls a Muslim, even if it were the prick he receives from a thorn, but that Allah expiates some of his sins for that.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari.)

When a Muslim woman reads this hadith she aught to be satisfied that Allah Almighty was not unjust with her, simply because she knows that through the days of menstruation she is to be rewarded for her patience on the fatigue she is experiencing. She will be rewarded as if she had done all her creedal duties without any loss.

On the other hand, Islam does not ask the Muslim woman to give up her spiritualities or pursuit of Islamic knowledge during this time either. While it is true that she cannot perform ritual prayers, Tawaf (circumambulation of the Ka`bah) and fasting; however, she is not prohibited from listening to tapes of the Qur'an, or from listening to someone else recite it. She may even recite the verses to herself silently. She can still pray, through du`aa’ (supplication), and can still repeat the praises of Allah Almighty (perform dhikr during this time as well. There is also nothing to stop her from reading Islamic texts outside of the Qur'an, including hadith.

These are some means by which she can keep the connection with Allah Almighty,

edit:The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'If a woman is in her period, then she can neither pray nor fast.'

    ps; thanks for the link.

You are not to pray when you are unclean.

This applies to that time of the month but can be also if you have a sore that oozes and has not healed.

Then making Wudu you are making your body clean and pure. If you were to break your wudu you are to do it again before you prayer is excepted. You can break your wudu by bleeding, using the bathroom, passing gas, burping, being sick, or saying something wrong (cussing). As you can see from the list most of these things can be fixed by a second cleansing but not the monthly time or if you were cut in a serous way that could not stop. This is why you must wait till they stop for the prayer to be excepted.

But if you are not praying because of a just reason it is acceptable and only required that you resume praying when you are able to keep your wudu.

Bismillahi Rahmani Rahim - contained in the call of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful Salaam Alaikum. Allah in His Mercy can provide us alleviation for the time of our menstrual cycles, which for some women human beings might want to be painful and intensely puzzling. women human beings do no longer pray or quick for the time of their menstrual cycles, or in the course of the time at the same time as they're bleeding after giving delivery. a lady can proceed to recite Qur'an, yet she might want to no longer contact the mushaf (Arabic Qur'an). If she has a e book that is tafsir, with Arabic and yet another language jumbled in, then that isn't the easily Qur'an and can want to be touched. The neglected prayers aren't to any extent further made up even if the neglected fasts are. And Allah is time-honored with suited. Fi Aman Allah, Nancy Umm Abdel Hamid

no way! a muslim women are not allowed or aksed to pray or fast during course...i don't know on what aspect he\she opposed it,as it's totally logical that one is unclean during her course,n Islam puts great prefrence to cleanliness..washing hands,n feet,n face....doesn't matter when u have came out of gutter, or haven't took bath for long..same is the case in mensturation.

it's mentioned at several points in hadith of muhammad (pbuh)Bukhari.

n a muslim believes on both Quran n hadith..belief is incomplete without each one of it.

I'm not a muslim women, but my mother and sisters are and no, they are not allowed to pray during their courses. I can't find the hadith or ayat at the moment, but it is written that you can't pray during your course because you are considered unclean, just like you can't pray after you have intercourse (unless you shower) or if you have any nasty bodily stuff on you. (like urine)
