Info on Eastern Europe?
Hey, I'm just wondering what the best places would be to get information on Eastern European countries--culture, climate, etc. I'm writing a story wioth a prominant character from somewhere there. Where is a good place to start for this (websites, books, etc.) I would love to go but I'm too poor to afford it. :(

Hi!
Start with English wikipedia if you can't afford a good book.
Just type in the country names, and you will see a very good overview of the countries.
You can find more infos on their country wikipedia pages.
I'm Hungarian, been to Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania. I can recommend all 4, especially Prague and Budapest. Budapest, Prague are one of the most fascinating capitals in the world, IMHO.

Bigger bookstores have books on cultures of different countries, if you look in their travel section. I've bought them on various Eastern Europe countries.
Also, a google search on the various countries name + "culture" will give a lot of results.

Buy a guidebook from Lonely Planet. They have one specifically on Eastern Europe. Also, try www.tripadvisor.com
