Why is the Religion and Spirituality section separate from the Mythology and Folklore section?

I wish somebody could explain the difference so that it made sense.

Update:

Sorry, yeah, I'm new around here. Such a tired question, isn't it? Yet you guys haven't even come close to giving me anything better than "you don't belong here" (my, my, what would Jesus have to say about THAT?) It's the same thing. Religion is mythology. Period.

Because "Religious Belief" in its absolutism is different than Mythologies which are part custom and part a way for cultures to maneuver. Both religion and myth might guide people who are perplexed by non-cut and dry situations.

Unfortunately, religions tend to be dogmatic and the precursors to many wars. Whereas myths, folklore and true spirituality are not doctrinaire--more elastic and living.

Well mythology is not an active religion anymore or at least I doubt anyone still worships mythological gods.

To make a sweeping generalization and say they are all the same just because they are all instances of mans imagination would be foolish.

. Because mythology is understood to be the study of things not believed in by the studier. Religion and spirituality are studied as things believed in by those discussing those subjects. If you are not a believer, then the religion and spirituality forum is not your place.

. There are two basic types of athiests. Those who simply do not believe, and those who think they need to attack the belief of those who do. The latter have made a religion out of non-belief. I have no use for these.

because if you think about it, religions have had miracles to prove them true especialy catholicism. mythology has been proven wrong. i mean who would believe a story (or at least have the proof) of a woman with snakes coming out of her hair who could turn people to stone.

folklore and mythology are things that people believed in once, religion is something people believe in now. it's more personal.

Spirituality is true and substantial. Mythology is unsubstantial and false. Two sites are required. You can't mix oil and water can you?
