On the question about my husband and his drug test. I asked about 7 min ago.?

It was his drug test for employment that he failed. He also drives trucks and I was wandering if the test results would come up on his background check. Also, if future employers would have access to this information.

I'm not positive but here's a pretty good guess...as to a background check, no. I mean, it's not documented and put on a computer accessible to the public. I believe the only way it would be discovered is if a future employer called that employer where he flunked the test. Just like they could say "He wasn't dependable" or "He did a poor job", I s'pose they could say "He failed a drug test". Some friendly advice to your hubby: Driving a truck and doing drugs is not a bright idea. There are innocent people getting killed on the road by drunk drivers, and drivers who are falling asleep at the wheel, and drivers who are high. So, save the recreation stuff for home.

that really depends on who did the drug check. most often the checks are done by agencies that are separate from the trucking companies however this may not always be the case.

another problem is that the company that asked him to take the drug test may have a person or persons there that are not really coming out and saying he failed the test but they don't say things that would indicate he didn't fail . sometimes what is not said is as bad or worse then what is said/

if your husband failed the test and he feels he should have passed only he would really know if he has used the drugs tested for then he should seek another test and move on from there.

he is not required to tell anyone that he failed this test so if he did test positive and he was using the drugs then if he stops in time he will pass the test.

there are trucking companies that don't require a test most of them are smaller and doing more local runs but he could work at one of them until he is able to pass the drug tests. i wish you both well

Hopefully, he'll lose his CDL for failing his drug test. This should be a law in all states. The last thing we need on our highways is more drug-infested speed freaks behind the wheel of a semi.

Then the answer would be no. But I have to say that I would prefer that truck drivers did pass their drug tests for the safety of all of us.

No. Background and drug tests are company specific. They will not release that information to anyone.

I would hate to live like that.

Unless it was pot, you got problems.

If it was pot, it's not right. But it's the law.
