I also live in NC and standing water can be a mosquito haven.Anyway, I have a small garden pond and have water lilies, iris, cannas, water hyacinths. and trying papyrus for the first year.
Your best source would be your local garden center, not a "big box". North Carolina has an excellent Agricultural Extension service for information. As you drive through the state on secondary roads near the coast you can see what grows in ditches-bullrushes, joe pye weed, etc.

Bog plants that you can find in garden centers like home depot's or lowe's. If it floods and carries them away downstream you will be out some money though.

you're ideal, vegetation advance faraway from gravity and in the direction of mild. without gravity, the seeds won't quite understand which thank you to initiate growing to be, and likely die. i assume seeds could get fortunate and advance the perfect way. in case you have already got a plant, the gravity won't remember as much as mild does,so it quite is going to advance in the direction of mild.
