What's the best way to tell parents the good news ^__^?

Hi everyone! Hubby and I just found out we're pregnant! We want to surprise my parents at Christmas by telling them (they'll be first-time grandparents!). Any good ideas? Thanks!

Update:

these are all great ideas so far :)

I love the idea of wrapping the sonogram picture and giving it to them.

Another idea is giving shirts or sweaters that say "WORLD'S BEST GRANDMA/GRANDPA". In Christmas prints if you can find them.

Or put up a stocking that says "Baby's First Christmas" (you could sew it or find iron-ons if you can't find one that already has that) and invite them to your house. Just let them notice it. Even if you're going to their house you could hang it up while they're not looking!

Go to a ceramics store and paint some dessert bowls on the inside bottom. They can say Grandma and Grandpa, or "we're pregnant!" or #1 Grandma, etc.

Serve dessert in the dishes, and as they get to the bottom of the bowl they'll see the writing. It'll be fun to sit around together and eat and wait for the moment they notice it!

    CONGRATS!!!

When we found out with our first, I went to Michales' craft store, bought a bassinet shaped basket for each set of grandparents and filled it with baby things. (Blanket, bibs, pacifier, bottles. .. things that can stay at the grandparents' house). We put it on the porch, rang the doorbell and ran! LOL! It was awesome!!

Or at one point on Christmas start sniffing the air, look around in concern and say , "Mom, do you have a bun in the oven?" then say "OH! WELL I DO!" LOL! Oh, it's so much fun to think of ways to tell them!! Good luck! It'll be so much fun!

Or write them a letter/poem from the baby. . ."Mom passed the test, the line was pink! She's possitivly glowing!"

    Have fun! Take pictures!

I still think like some of the others said to buy something that has to do with grandparents. It would be a lovely surprise for them to open up a gift and getting something like that. To me that would take my breath away. :)

Merry Christmas, and congratulations on becoming a mommy :))

My husband and I gave his mother a figurine of a angel rocking a baby in a cradle, she got it right away. I wanted to suprise them with this pregnancy (our 3rd, I am 7 weeks) but she knew almost as soon as I did, I think she has my uterus wiretaped waiting for another Grand Daughter, lol

you could buy a expecting grandparents card and put it into a Christmas envelope and then wrap their gift in baby shower paper. something fun and different.

Wrap up a gift for them that is baby oriented. Whenever they open it, they will look puzzled at first but then the light bulb will go off.

    Congratulations!

Gift wrap an image of the sonogram or put it in a card.

If you can get an ultrasound picture, wrap it up and put it under the tree to both of them.
