Can anyone HELP me to find a laptop for my son, a US Marine, who NEEDS this under the x-mas tree. SOS?

You need to know, I'm a single mom of 3........no child support pymts. to speak of, plus my funds are completly depleted thru the airline purchases I've been paying for so Jake can come home, when he's up for leave........this present would totally blow him away, if he was able to unwrap one (laptop) on X-mas day! So, any really good deals or leads you could pass my way would be truly appreciated, & if I'm able to afford it......would enable him to accept his deployed, that will be coming up for him around this May or June... As of this writing, he is stationed @ his MOS school, and he is the class leader, however, he informs me how there is only 2 other co-marines who currently have laptops with them now and EVERYBODY asks to use them! Again......can anyone help this proud mom out with some suggestions? Thank you.....Happy Holidays....

Dell would be the best way to go they have excellent military discounts and a very affordable payment plan. he can also look around at the local Bx or what ever they are called in the marines they will offer him a credit card with descent interest and since they know he has to pay he can buy it him self.

I also say go with Dell. You don't want to buy a 'no name' brand laptop w/ no support. Laptops tend to break more often than desktops simply because they are moved often. Keys come off, the LCD might go out, etc. If you get a good deal on a laptop, I'd make sure it's from either Dell or HP (or a MAC is great if you can find a deal).

You say your funds are depleted, something that might work, write a letter to a computer manufacturer. While I was in the first gulf war I wrote a letter to fender musical instruments and got a free bass guitar shipped to me. Try a letter to some to the computer makers like Alienware, Falcon computers, Monarch computers. Not sure how Dell or HP would do, but give them a try.

I would suggest Dell too. He can go through AAFES website and order a dell without having to pay tax or shipping. Many of the laptops on base are still more than dell. Getting it on a payment plan may make it easier.

There is the toys for tot drive through the local police and fire departments. Maybe you could contact them and explain this situation in your local area. Maybe you could have some type of donation box put in these areas for your son. It sure wouldn't hurt to ask, being a US Marine and serving our country, they might do something for you. Just a suggestion. Good luck and Merry Christmas. Hope your son comes home safe!

As a Marine myself im telling you that your son can buy cheap Lap Tops at the PX on base. How about giving him money when he comes home and then saying get what ever you want with it. He can take your money plus the money he makes and get a really nice one.

that truly relies upon on what way he could desire us. everybody has a distinctive interpretation of issues, so i could desire to be incorrect, yet i'm going to make it easier to be attentive to what i think of. i think of, that when God created the angels and his different divine creations, they have been made to love/obey God no count what. I won't say that they had no unfastened will, because of the fact Lucifer needless to say chosen to insurrection. yet besides, i think of God wanted to get unconditional love, so he created people. Dumb, ignorant, harmless people. i think he merely wanted to objective in spite of if or no longer some thing could desire to take heed to him with out being compelled to accomplish that, so because it is why Adam and Eve have been made. So in a feeling, definite he desires us, because of the fact he needs unconditional love. it is merely my interpretation, thank you for some time.
