There is a spread it falls within:

Using % as TYPICALLY used in a school:

    Grade..%.....gpa

    A+..

    A....90%.........4.0

    A-...86.666_...3.666_

    B+..83.333_...3.333_

    B....80%.........3.0

    B-...76.666_...2.666_

    C+..73.333_...2.333_

    C....70%.........2.0

    C-..

Each grade is 1/3 of 10% higher than the one previous. Most teachers round per typical math rules and raise the 2.666.. to 2.7. So, everything from 2.7 to 2.99 is a B- unless your teacher is giving a little leeway. If they give you a B even though you are at 2.9 (as an example), the school's computer will give you the 3.0 average.

There's no standard with grading as it often varies from school to school, and even sometimes from department to department. Perfect example, in one of my classes, the B- represents a 2.5 to 2.8.

If you look at a school's course catelog, you'll usually find the school's grading system. But remember, that it could be different in your department, so you could always check with the office to be sure.

And of course, registration will generally know because the transcripts and grade reports usually are generated out of that office.

Depends what scale you are on...when i was in high school, we were on a 5.0 scale. Usually its a 4.0 though where 4.0=A, 3.0=B, 2.0=C (average), 1.0=D and Obviously 0=FAIL :)

It depends on the institution you are in. You need to check their grade scale to find out. The range differs depending on where you are.

Varies by location, here is what it is for the states. B-=2.7 or 2.75 depending on the school. Check the link

    I think it's 2.2 or 2.5? I know it's under 3.0
