It is expected and accepted just like everything else. You expected to take out your garbage. Crime is just like any other business, it makes the world go around. If there were no businesses like wal-mart, what would happen? If there were no drug dealers making all that money they spend, what would happen to our economy? Yes, it's a crime, but it's a job to some. If there were no crimes, there would be no jail, no judges, etc. so of course it is expected, and in some cases accepted, because what's done is done.

Why, if you put two rats in a cage they can live in some what of a harmonic state, but if you put 10 rates in the same cage why will they kill each other. I don't think that it is accepted, I think that most of us don't know what to do about it. We already know that the police can't or won't handle it all.

Expected? I guess it depends on where you come from. I don't expect people to act in such a manner that is detrimental to their community. I expect people to act civil. I believe perhaps we have become more tolerant of such action, but I don't expect it.

If there's no crime, alot of police officers and lawyers and what-not will be out of work.

Considering many people in power are closely tied to lawyer groups and similar groups, it could be possible that the media display of crime in a fashionable light is purposely trying to condition people to commit minor crime.

There has always been a dark side to human nature. It is even thought by many that an honest person just has not seen a sufficient temptation. A grain of TRUTH in that one.

As for crime...you can INVITE crime by over-dressing, long purse strap, walking in the dark, etc.

If driving and your car is bumped...proceed to police station...do not get out...or pull over and get out...watch out and be wary...

From conditioning, through the media. The more they show of it, the more your brain is conditioned to except it. It's premeditated.
