  • Did I mess up that badly?

So, I met this guy one month ago via a social dating site. We met up one week later and really hit it off. We talk everyday, multiple times a day, but(hours) I have only seen him once more since our initial meet. Yesterday, I asked why he hasn't asked to see me, he explained that work has been really crazy... My ego was apparently way too bruised and I left the conversation @ "you take care". He was shocked to hear the finality of my comment. I didn't mean it; it just came out, but I was too proud to take it back. After calming down and reflecting, I realize that instead of just saying "I want to see you" I dissected everything that happened in the past month as him not being "into me" and wasting my time. I texted an apology later in the day and received no response. This morning, I left him a voicemail asking him to call me. I don't think I was wrong for wanting to see him, just horrible at expressing the point. Now I am playing the waiting game... Will he call? Should I stress it? Or just let it go? I'm very guarded and have a history at sabotaging relationships when I start to feel myself getting invested. Normally I wouldn't care, but this is getting to me. Did I expect too much too soon?

He's opened up to me about so much and has so far proved to be of quality. I feel awful that I gave him the impression that I am willing to just toss him to the side... Without further consideration. Last night was the first night his voice wasn't the last thing I heard before bed.

  • Some feedback on this essay I wrote?

History in Black attempts to explain the reasoning behind black oppression as we have come to know it today. By providing an informative background on black history I was able to determine that black oppression has stemmed from lifetimes of cruel and unjust treatment upon Africans and those of African decent, not only at the hands of the white supremacist, but by their own as well. For thousands of years, the racial identities of black people have been valued less than that of their white counterparts. Even science has reared its way in to this “hot topic” and with no avail tried to claim that whites are superior based on the fact that blacks are biologically more “ape-like” and therefore inferior to whites; research was inconclusive. Although America has come a long way since the days of slave trading and the Jim Crow laws, it would be foolish to think that the laws held by our society today and even those previously set and are no longer enforced, have not aided in sustaining a white supremacy point of view. Moreover, the past denials of education, freedom and wealth for blacks have shaped the way that they are regarded by society. In conclusion, anti-black oppression will only begin to fade once society as a whole can agree on the fact that black people are entitled to just as much as whites and should be seen as competent, deserving, whole people, not just three-fifths of one.
