Anyone else receive a violation notice for answering a post that is in itself a violation ?

Well, this must be a first ! I received a violation notice for answering "2 points" to the character who keeps posting "!!!! FINALLY A COOL WEBSITE THAT MAKES YOU MONEY !!!!!!? Yahoo! Answers said I was point gaming. If this is REALLY point gaming then I am guilty and should be terminated from Answers.

Update:

Jane, thank you for you answer. I have been found guilty and I meant every word in my e-mail to you. Point gaming was not my intention. I no longer want to be a member of Yahoo! Answers. Please terminate my Answers account and do not ship me the cup.

Update 2:

Thanks for all the answers.

Happy Holidays to all and may 2007 be better than 2006.

I've seen those posts and I would like to see them go away. I guess from now on, just ignore them. It still wasn't right for you to receive a violation notice. I thought solicitation was a violation to begin with.

Well, you were point-gaming, weren't you? Obviously, the asker was guilty of spamming the boards with the same, incredibly annoying message over and over again, but that doesn't mean that you weren't point-gaming. I guess Yahoo Answers' advice would be to just report the violation and ignore the question. What you did was to use that question as an excuse to get two extra points, and that is point-gaming.

We usually let the answers slide a bit when the question is an obvious violation of our community guidelines, but it doesn't grant immunity. Answering "2 points" is considered point-gaming and runs the risk of being removed anytime it's posted.

It grow to be in fact a contravention in Yahoo's eyes. They classification a query as guy or woman who's answer will strengthen the understanding of the entire community no longer only the asker. by employing that definition your question grow to be no longer a ideal question by way of fact the only one it helped grow to be you. you won't consider this many folk think of the regulations would be a splash too strict yet Yahoo own the region and make the regulations. examine the TOS and you will understand extra useful, they clarify it extra useful than me. stable success and be careful.

YES!! This just barely happened to me!!!

I am sooooo pissed off about it!

It was some discriminatory comment, not a question, about Atheists who hate Christian's pretty much and I gave an honest answer and they went aghead and warned me and deleted it!!

Yeah, I've had violation notices for answering a post that was itself a violation. I was accused of insulting other participants. I guess some spammer's widdle feelings got hurt and they reported me. I can't imagine other people turning me in for insulting a spammer.

I now just avoid those kinds of questions. If I don't answer, they can't report me for saying what I honestly feel.

Yes!! Question was: If you`ve thought about killing yourself, why have`nt you done it? My answer: Sometimes you`re the pigeon, sometimes you`re the statue. Tomorrow you`ll be the pigeon. Don`t let life crap on you!!!! I don`t know. Did I get a violation for saying CRAP?

Somebody asked a question and said they would report people who gave a smartass answer and I ended up getting a violation when the question itself was a violation. I later reported her and caused her to have her question removed.
