Why is ripping a cd to my computer taking so long?
I have ripped some of my CDs already to my computer. When I started to rip a disc today, it had only transferred 45% of the first song after 10 min. I don't remember it taking this long the last time I ripped. There is plenty of room on my hard drive and there is nothing special about the Cds I am trying to rip. I tried both MP3 and WMA formats, but that did not make a difference. I also tried both Windows media and Creative Audio (i have a zen nano), but they were both equally slow. Any ideas? Have I just unknowingly altered a setting? I am not very technology savvy, so please answer in your best "Ripping for Dummies" manner. Thanks!

Check your media players rip settings you may have made the disc read setting down to like 2x or 4x 8x 16x 32x.....etc, if not, if not your cd/dvd drive has been slowed down, and you need to go to my computer, and right click cd/dvd-drive, and check the settings of your cd.dvd drive

The disc is dirty/scratched making it harder for the CD drive to read it. The lens of the CD Drive is dirty, CD Drive faulty... I don't really know~ heh
