What is the best way to fix a patio built incorrectly?
The previous owners of my townhouse put down paving stones to make a larger patio. Instead of placing them close together and filling the seams with sand (like most patios), they placed the stones 2-3 inches apart and poured cement or concrete in the gaps. Now the cement has settled and is cracking away from the stones and chipping away in places. Would it be better to rip it all up and start over or can I just replace the cement? I'm guessing i need to start over :(
3 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoHow can I safely find and destroy a wasp nest in a tree?
I was stung this weekend by a paper wasp. The only problem is I am not 100% sure where the nest is. I am pretty sure it is in a thick, 4 ft. cedar tree, but I cannot actually see the nest and am worried about getting too close to investigate. Any ideas on how find and then destroy this nest? I work in the yard alot and I have a dog that spends time there as well, so it is important that I get rid of this colony.
Thanks.
8 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoBiggest Loser Fans- a question?
How long do the final contestants work on their own before returning for the finale? I was under the impression it was about 3 months, but when Heather announced she was 5 months pregnant it didn't make sense. Do they really go for 6 months on their own?
4 AnswersTelevision1 decade agoWhy is ripping a cd to my computer taking so long?
I have ripped some of my CDs already to my computer. When I started to rip a disc today, it had only transferred 45% of the first song after 10 min. I don't remember it taking this long the last time I ripped. There is plenty of room on my hard drive and there is nothing special about the Cds I am trying to rip. I tried both MP3 and WMA formats, but that did not make a difference. I also tried both Windows media and Creative Audio (i have a zen nano), but they were both equally slow. Any ideas? Have I just unknowingly altered a setting? I am not very technology savvy, so please answer in your best "Ripping for Dummies" manner. Thanks!
2 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoShould I be concerned about my pit bull/beagle mix puppy?
I adopted 2 mixed breed puppies about 3 months ago (they are now 6 mo.), a female and her brother, who is now with my sister. I strongly believe that they are pit bull/beagle mixes because of their size (small), coloring, and general body stature (I googled for images, and they are dead on). The female (Sophie, black and white) more closely resembles a pit, while her brother (Simon, black/brown/white) looks more like a beagle and sounds like one to boot. So far both puppies are very sweet with people and other dogs and have shown no aggression except with each other (sibling rivalry perhaps). I just can't help being a little concerned about the possible pit bull background. Does anyone else have a pit/beagle or just pit mix who could maybe relieve my concerns. I have Sophie in obedience training and she is doing very well. Is there anything I need to watch for in her behavior? Any advice you could offer would be great. Thanks!
12 AnswersDogs1 decade agoRain runoff problem for landscaping?
One of my gutters empties right down the middle of my yard and has slowly caused the grass and dirt to erode. Now I have a small ditch that runs half the length of my yard. I've tried redirecting the flow using those plastic extenders, but the water always finds its way to this trench. How can I repair the trench (level it off) and is there anything I can do for this area (like laying paving stones, etc) that will prevent the same damage from reoccuring?
6 AnswersGarden & Landscape1 decade agoTeaching a quiet puppy to speak?
I would like to teach my puppy to speak as a means to stop her from scratching the door when she wants inside. I have looked at some of the dog training websites and they suggest doing something that makes the dog bark in order to teach the command. My puppy doesn't bark at anything, though ( at least not yet). She kind of whines alot, but no barking. Any suggestions?
1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoA question for the guys......(serious answers only please)?
Would you want to know if the girl you were dating had been previously raped? If she did tell you, would it change your perception of her? Please be honest, its not going to hurt my feelings if you say it would.

I looked at my voter registration card, and there is a listing for district, senate, congressional, school dist, and commission. How do I find out what "place" I belong to so that I can research the candidates. For this election the place seems to be tied to electing judges. Help!

1 AnswerTelevision1 decade agoAny ideas on an inexpensive, easy kitchen backsplash?
My kitchen currently has hideous, upside-down wallpaper over the sink and stove. I know tile is a popular choice, but can be expensive and labor intensive. Any ideas for a less pricey, easier do-it-yourself material for a backsplash?
6 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoMy puppy is always begging for food. Help!?
I feed her according to her food package's instructions. My vet says she is not underweight and is very healthy. But she whines and cries for food constantly. I do not give in to her begging. She gets treats twice a day in her kong toy in addition to meals. Any suggestions on how to get her to stop begging?
18 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do I keep my puppy on one side of me during walks?
She likes to cross back and forth in front of or behind me, and sometimes getting underfoot. I try to keep her on my left, but she keeps tugging on the leash and I almost end up dragging her along. I tried changing the side she walks on, but it is the same story.
