I'm curious. How does a closed question get so many answers? And why?

About three weeks ago I responded to a question. It was a simple question, sort of interesting to me. But I responded primarily because it had received zero responses. After I entered my answer, I discovered that the Question, in fact, had been closed. So I thought that would be the end of it.

About a week ago I happened to check back and--lo, and behold--there were 67 answers! Most of them thoughtful and interesting. That figure, as of this posting, is up to 76.

How does a 2-month-old question keep getting responses? And why, I wonder. Esp. one that had received not a single response in the first month or so after being posted?

Just curious. In my experience usually questions get few, if any, responses, after the first few hours of being posted.

Here's the Q: How many pages should a book of poetry have?

Update:

byderule, but I did not vote for a Best Answer. I was the first person to respond to the Question, and immediately upon responding I realized that the Question was closed. I thought that was the end of it -- that I had just wasted my time in responding.

Now there is a note that the Question period has expired, but -- lo and behold -- as of today there are 102 responses and people keep in responding!

Things here seem to run on their own logic, so nothing really adds up

did you vote for a best answer ,that closes the question,

and dont look for reason or sense here in Yahoo answers which seems to be run by Robots most of the time .while the real people are having parties and figure out new insane ways to drive people crazy ,like the abuse button and that emperors Thumb ,which can both be used to abuse inocent people or boycot the those who are of oposing opinions,or even get them deleted from the whole system,

as too how many pages for Poetry, depends on your taste ,for some people it would be none, and others could pig out on thousands.

I don't know to the top half but as for the poetry book, anywhere from 50 pages and up. I have read really short poetry books as well as Shel Silverstein's which had hundreds of pages.
