    POSITIVE

Zinc is a trace element, like all nutrients, is essential to human health. It is essential to over 200 enzyme activities within the body, is the principle protector of the immune system and is essential for the regulation of our genetic information! So it is a pretty important element. Like all nutrients, you need Zinc to function properly.

    NEGATIVES

Now, having too much Zinc can cause an imbalance of other nutrients, such as copper, iron and selenium. Furthermore it is possible to overdose on Zinc (not because it's toxic, but because you're body doesn't get rid of it easily!)

So really, ZINC doesn't have any negatives, because the effects are only POSITIVE tp ones health. But too much zinc may cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. But if you get the correct amount, you'll be VERY HEALTHY!

Cannot think of a con, but the pro is that I had multiple upper respiratory infections every year since moving to Houston. I started taking a 50mg Zinc tablet every day, and I haven`t have one in over a year now. I also take a iron supplement as too much Zinc can make you anemic.

Okay, I'm one of those vegans who has a different idea on the lifestyle. For the most part I avoid things with animals but it is nearly impossible to avoid ALL things that people didn't do animal testing on and other bull. I also see nothing wrong with zoos and aquariums or pets. Some vegans do and they can kiss it. But on the other hand you cannot wear any animal products. I go no farther than not eating or wearing animal products. Anyways, no it isn't hard. But, you MUST, and I'd underline, bold and highlight that MUST do your research before becoming vegan. If you do not get all the nutrition you need you could become very, very sick. However, as long as you eat a variety of food and know whats in your food, the names of those pesky animal products and make sure you're getting all your vitamins you'll be fine. B12 and D3 are a bit hard to find but you can moosh them in with fortified tofu and orange juice or some plant based milk. There are plenty of sites out there with a lot of information on how to stay healthy and vegan. So go ask google, and you'll learn a lot. I used mostly vegweb, vegan coach and tryveg.

Zinc really upsets my stomach, so I have a hard time finding a multivitamin that will work for me.

Whatever you do, NEVER take too much. If you do you will have the weirdest nastiest headache you ever had shy of a bullet wound, and your mouth will taste like the end of a leaking battery - been there done that - don't you do it!

The max that you should take is about 100mg a day.
