Bad TV Reception and Digital Set Top Box?

A digi box will vastly improve the graininess/ghosting of your poor reception as well as give you more channels.

I live in an area with poor reception, I only got about 18 channels on my digi box that were watchable. Since getting a new High Gain aerial (£20 from Wilkinsons), I now get all available channels.

Adding a high gain signal booster can help too.

If the reception is bad in your area then a digital set top box will not improve. You will not get any ghosting and if you do manage to get an image it will be crystal clear. Buy a high gain aerial. Maplins do a good indoor one if you can't be bothered to stick one on the roof or in the loft.

A new aerial in the loft or on your roof will probably improve analogue pictures & is often required for proper digital reception.

No, as they are two different things. Digital boxes are part of cable tv, and are completely separate from the reception you pick up from your local tv stations via antenna.

If you use a digital set top box, the stations on it you pay for will look fantastic.

No not if you live in a very built up area,we got one and because we have a lot of flats nearby the box was unable to pick up a decent reception.The only way round it is to get Sky or cable,we have now got sky and have no problems with it.

sounds like you just need an aerial signal booster. call a tv techician they will give you some advice

think you need to get a new arial first, if the arial is no good then wont get a picture on the set top box at all.
