Does anyone know EXACTLY what the "No Child Left Behind" does?

Actually "no child left behind" was first pushed by President Bill Clinton. It was later passed under President GW Bush.

What it does is require that education is monitored via standardized tests to ensure that children are learning. This is good for children. There will not be the situation where some kids were graduating not being able to read or write. Many teachers hate it because it means they have to work harder and the children need to show they are being educated. The truth is that if we don't want to be beaten by other countries in their educational systems, we need to make sure children are learning.

I'm young and I took the HSPA in high school as part of the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND. It was so easy and most people passed. It hasn't improve in any way my school and hasn't prevented students from failing. This act is a joke, it only intervenes with how states should run the schools.

"No child Left Behind" was a quest started by President Clinton in which his idea was to have no child without education. It reinforces the "system" to take appropriate actions as far as funding, building and maintaining educational structures for every child in America.

if ANYONE doesn't pass the test, the school gets marked down for reduced funding or something. Some schools didn't make standards by 2 people

I love it when people say teachers hate NCLB because it makes them work hard. Obviously, those are people who spend little time trying to educate others. It forces teachers and schools to "teach to the test" to try and match whatever standards the government says children should know.

It leaves white kids behind in favor of blacks and hispanics.
