How good is the Wii? Is there any delay from when you move the remote to when the action appears on screen?
I've seen clips of people throwing a baseball and it comes up on screen a couple of seconds later... Just wondering if it affects the gameplay, cos if you swing the bat when the ball's coming wouldn't it show up too late and you'd end up missing it??
Any info on the performance aspect would be greatly received. Thanks.

As someone who's played the wii, I can assure you that there is virtually NO signal delay at all. Any signal delay you saw in videos may have been the result of:
1.) Video-syncing errors.
2.) Beta-versions of the Wii console that were shown at E3 (the Wii was still undergoing hardware development).
However the hardware being perfect in no way guarantees that the game developers will use it right. So far with Wii-Sports and Zelda this is not an issue. We can only hope that nintendo continues in this trend of high quality.

I can answer that. The Wii-motes use various technologies to let you get the feel of actually playing a game, utilizing techs such as gyroscopics, infrared and radio-frequency. For the Wii Sports, you mostly use the Gyros and RF for the sports like baseball and tennis and golf, while the IR is used to mostly point in the main status screens.
The only small ansy thing is the gyros and your movement in relation to it... the wiimotes can detect slow speeds (because of the inertia with the gyros), but its to a degree... if it was really slow, almost feather touch, the wiimote won'te register the movement. You can see its most resonating issues regarding the gyros with baseball and golf, as the minute movements in golf will either make no power gauge, or erractic movements make the swing overmax.
With Baseball, its sorta a lag, but its not too much... remember, its a game, not real life, and for games, you need to adapt... so if you swing too late for a ball, swing earlier and adapt.
Practice, and it will work.

the wii is great. i have had no problems with timing. however a lot of people have accidently let go of the controller. for example, when you swing the bat. And the wii has caused a lot of broken TVs

There is no delay. If you miss you just suck! haha the performance of the Wii is great and I have had no problems. I am pro on everything but golf woo hoo!
