What role does organized religion play in orchestrating/promoting, or aiding and abetting illegal immigration?

More than one church spokesman has voiced objections to enforcing the law. Should organized religion be looked at more critically for trying to break immigration laws?

They are the biggest of problems! But it seems the Churches of today are only in it for the revenue any way!

properly, definite, technically they're supporting and abetting, even though if, they'll possibly under no circumstances get CHARGED as such, because of ethical accountability in touch in this. it fairly is basically too a good number of a "gray section" to ever be solidified as an sturdy "supporting and abetting" act. this is because of the fact this is such an controversial case, it is, helping somebody with the aid of the desolate tract so they don't starve to death. Yeah, i know, it fairly is a conflict of expertise of right and incorrect. If I lived out close to the desolate tract, and a few unlawful immigrants got here to my abode and necessary a bathtub and something to drink, plus some advice on the place the "promised land" replaced into....i might finally end up helping them.

I think it more of a question of the church is not responsible for enforcing our immigration laws.....Some illegals go there for HELP, you know, for prayer or if they have physical needs....In case you hadn't noticed, many illegals are dirt poor....No church will EVER turn away someone in need.....Thank God the church is not used as a political entity in any situation.....Remember, separation of church and state? Lets keep that way.....

Organized religion should stay out of organized government. The same should go for the other direction too. All churches should lose their tax-exempt status immediately. They have all become politically involved.

YES!!! If a church wants to get political then by god it should be treated like a political organization and subject to the laws there of.

    Good Point!

The Bible says that we should obey the laws of the land. But I'm sure they see it as a good will towards men kinda thing.

I'm Christian and I say get the illegals out and secure the borders! Also punish those who aid illegals.

I don't know that there is any connection. Actually, I'm surprised you said that. I have noticed the opposite... that it is the far-left/anti-religious people who are for illegal immigration and who want to change "illegal immigrant" to "undocumented immigrant". A good example of this is the ACLU.

  • your confusing aiding illegal immigrations with wanting a solution for all who are already here , there is a huge difference in both . i do not know of any religious group doing in it , if u do please provide proof of what you are saying or back off your statements .

by the way they have the same rights as any other citizen to ask for changes in the law and to help those who they think are in need . if you were part of a religious group who says to be christian u would be expected to help those in need with out caring whether or not they have documents .

Usually, people from other countries are more God fearing than Americans. Immigrants usually turn to their religion or church for help with pretty much anything. So in turn the church sees no other option than to help the people

The Catholic Church in the USA likes it because it gets them more members and more dollars. Maybe theres also an element of helping the poor in it.
