Had notice that some bath towels will appear black spots or patches after some usage. Just cannot figure out why do some material gets it and some don't.

Are they new towels? It could be mold forming from not hanging to dry after use. suggest hanging towels after using until dry. then put in hamper. also, maybe buy a differant brand, move hamper to another area. Also, it helps to add hydrogen peroxide to your wash. colors are much brighter!!!!

The black spots are mold. You sometimes get them by leaving wet towels in a heap on the floor, but you'll also get them if you leave them in the washing machine for a long period of time before drying them

If they stink, it is probably mold. I would imagine that some molds could stain your towels, even after washing the mold off. I would recommend washing your towels more often.

Ditto on the mold. Different materials are probably more prone to get it than others.

If you wasjed them with dark clothes, they probably bled onto your towels.

It probably laid wet and molded. That's what I think it is!

Could be grease spots that transferred from your dryer
