Why doesn't anybody seach on google or wikipedia before asking a question here?

Why don`t most people search on google or wikipedia before ANSWERING a question here?

Let me do some research on wikipedia.org real quick just to make sure...

People don't know how to conduct a web search to limit their search results (by including quoted phrases, and telling the system that particular words must[or musn't] be included in the searches). When they are presented with hundreds of search results they don't know where to start looking, and find that reading pages just isn't for them. By asking a question here, they can provide as much information as possible to receive relevant answers.

You can probably answer this question yourself. Just think about why *you* didn't search before asking *this* question. You might have found out that the same thing is asked a few times each week. :-)

I guess asking is just more fun than searching for many people. That isn't a bad thing though, since if everyone was able to search for themselves, Yahoo Answers wouldn't exist.

Lol yeah ive been desirous to declare "google it" for fairly a on the same time as now :) sure a brilliant number of questions are common yet while they are common and we respond to them properly it strikes us up a point.

I have wondered if that many people just don't know how to look things up. Your question is quite a good one.

i'm not sure why..it would make it a lot easier, but then i think a lot of the questions would be the really reall stupid ones...at least the wiki ones are easy and interesting.

Maybe they think they can feedback via users

sometimes we do and cant find the answer, sometimes we would rather get the answer from individuals on here than from prewritten papers.

dunno...i guess either dont know how to find their answer, or just feel like being lazy.
