How can I get my toddler to blow her nose?
When I try to get her to blow, she just sucks it up. What's the trick?

I have a 3 year old boy that can't blow his nose either. He either sucks in or blows out through his mouth. He hears the noise from my nose when I blow, so he just makes a noise with his mouth. My answer... I don't know. I just wanted to let you know that your child is not abnormal. Good luck!

It may sound mean but I got out the nose sucker out that you get from the hospital when baby comes. I told him blow or I would suck it out. I had to use it once on him, he uses a tissue now. He hates the nose sucker and if he starts to suck it instead of blowing I set the sucker on the table and that does the trick.

My daughter watches me blow my nose and then I tell her to blow. The first time she did it, she got it and she's been doing it ever since. She goes to the bathroom and gets a whole roll of tissue and blows, but you know its not a lot. Just tell him/her to "blow" and they'll eventually get the hang of it, but you have to do it too.

You need to show her how you do it, that is how I got my child to learn how to blow her nose.
