I am looking to purchase a projector for personal use (TV, Movies, etc.). Can anyone give me some advice on?
some good brands and any experience you've had with a projector? I'm relatively new to all of this and hope to get a good piece of equipment without purchasing a top of the line product. Thanks in advance!

Lookup Projectorcentral.com look on the left side for the Home Theater section, they have a lot of hands-on reviews..
I personnaly have a Sanyo PLV-Z3 That I love.. (now the Z5 is out too).. I chose that one because of the Waranty (3 years), the flip door that hides the lens when not in use (on the Z5 it is motorized) , the lens shift, and owner reviews.
It all depends on what you want to do with it.. the new 1080p definitition projectors are getting cheaper and cheaper (4500$), same for the 720p lower resolution projectors (closing on 1500$). and also, buy it online, you'll save a real good amount of $$$.
I would not go lower than 720p for any reason, this resolution is compatible with HD programming, and is pretty impressive btw.
Lookup brands like Sanyo, Panasonic, Sony, and Mitsubishi, and make sure that they are Home Theater projectors (not presentation/PC projectors).
