Is the dentistry just across the mexican border that bad?

I need a dentist and someone told me to go to mexico, where a lot of american dentists go just to avoid certain taxes. Do you think It's safe?

If you have no interest in your teeth and aren't afraid of being kidnapped, by all means, go to Mexico for your dental work.

A dentist trained in the US doesn't go to Mexico to avoid a few bucks in taxes. He would make more money in the US, even if you figure in the tax rate. He probably can't get licensed in the US, so he goes to Mexico.

Who knows? You can't generalize about this sort of thing. Maybe 1 out of 20 are excellent, but then you have a 95% chance of getting really screwed up. Maybe 19 out of 20 are excellent and you only have a 5% chance of getting screwed up, but who can say???

If you have a problem, just be sure that you know what consumer-friendly board you can go to to seek resolution. In MY state, you can complain to the Attorney General, who has issued my license to practice. What will you do if you get bad care in Mexico?

Wouldn't recommend it. You get what you pay for and the standard of care isn't the same as the USA. Meaning the dentists aren't held to very strict standards.

No, it's pretty bad. I've seen the clinics in Progresso and I wouldn't have work done there.

I work with a lot of illegals and their teeth are better than mine.
