Where is the neutral safety switch located in 96' Maxima?

    I'm not certain, but it might be called an inhibitor switch which is located on the side of the transaxle facing the front of the car. Basically it just tells the AT control unit which position the shifter is in. I'm not sure of the problem you are experiencing so I can't offer more information.
