    Try opening the picture in whatever photo editing program you use on your computer. Check the size of the image. Very possibly the height of the image is proportionally larger. The standard size for a 7 inch wide photo is 5 inches high. Is the image 6 inches high?

    I would look to see if there is an options menu on the unit. You may be able to tell it you want all pictures at full screen.

    download picasa2 by google then install and open picture and do the slide show and it displays full screen

    I've been thinking about getting one of those...check the instructions to see if there's any size requirements for best viewing.
