Tricks to getting over confrentation issues?

I'm 29 and have a lot going for me - the only problem is that I hate confrentation - which leads to zero assertiveness, which results to people walking all over me. It seems to only be getting worse.

Any suggestions?

    when there is a disagreement

always keep the focus on the actual reason for disagreement

never talk about you or the other person

    for example

if there is a dispute about somebody not paying you

always keep the focus on ok how can we negotiate this

never say anything like "I always pay on time" or never say "you never pay on time" - just keep the focus on the reason

You have to stand up for yourself when you allow people to walk all over you they will only do it all the more, they have no respect for you. You have to confront them and assert yourself if you don't they will only continue to walk all over you all the more and more and more...........Confront them tell them what you are thinking and feeling.............disrespected! No one should put up with that kind of behavior it is basically bullying and the only way to deal with it is to stand up for yourself!!

Source(s): Self_ I used to have this problem til I started standing up for myself-Confronting the bully and being just as (if not more) agressive which doesn't come naturally for me either.

Practice in the mirror what you want to say. Or if it is a particular person, ask if you can talk to them in private.

first try learning how to spell and then work your way up.

You should first know how to spell "confrontation".
