Blu-Ray or HD DVD?

What do you think is going to win the format wars HD DVD or Blu-Ray (please no PlayStation 3 or XBox 360 fans)? I personaly think Blu-Ray will win because to the extent of my knownedge Blu-Ray already has a Blu-Ray-R drive wile there is no HD DVD-R drive yet. What do you think?

Update:

sorry when I sayed HD DVD-R drive and Blu-Ray-R drive I ment a drive capable of writing the disks.

    blu-ray(my opinion)

because in the end people who want a good hd picture will only buy the blu-ray because 5 of the 6 major movie companies took blu-rays side and including other major electronic companies such as hitachi, lg, panasonic, mitubishi electric, pioneer, philips, samsung, sharp and sony and other computer companies such as dell, apple, and hp. also lots of people have a ps3( i hate ps3 and 360, i have the wii) i compared hd-dvd and blu-ray in a electronics convention in detroit last year. blu-ray has much better quality, this is because of the 50gb it can hold compared to 30gb of hd-dvd. so it can hold more data for better hd viewing.

But in the end the consumers choose what they want.

    This is just my opinion.

i think i saw an HDDVD R drive for a computer, it was $999, but taht was a couple months ago, i think HDDVD, just becuase it can be recognized by the average consumer easier, like i mean, someone who wtahces dvds and has a dvd play and knwos what high def is, could figure out what hddvd is alot quicker than bluray, idk, i think it will be veryy close, but i think hd dvd, im going to get one in like a couple years, or maybe i'l wait for the hitachi 500gb dvds, using the ultraviolet spectrum, instead of visable light, or maybe ill wiat for protein coated DVDs, like this:

    or holographic discs:

    whatever

ill say hd dvd because there is so much more support for it than just sony making movies on blu ray
