    Hell is a false teaching. Romans 6:23 says: "For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord." It doesn't say that the wages sin pays is everlasting torment. Hellfire was borrowed by false Christianity a few centuries ago to scare their followers into doing everything they told them, most of which wasn't based on scripture. It is a tool of Satan to make people think that God is sadistic and unloving. That goes completely against what 1 John 4:8 says: "He that does not love has not come to know God, because God is love."

    Because Christianity originated as a political vessel and a scare tactic back in the days of yore when church and state were anything but seperated. If God was allowed to forgive the nonbelievers for their ignorance (as would only make sense in a forgiving religion, as you said) then there would be no reason for the followers of other religions to follow the new leaders, who set down the rules they had created from Christianity. So of course, it was ambrosia and estacy for the good Christians and fire and brimstone for the non-believers.

    However, Christianity in it's beginnings was nothing like Christianity today and in a hundred or two hundred or a thousand years ago, it will be completely different again.

    Frankly, the long and short of it is that Christianity, like most other major religions, came to power because it was a political vessel used to control it's people by instilling fear in anyone who tried to go against it. That is why non-believers don't get into Heaven. Don't politics suck?

    Christians can not answer this question - no one can answer this question. It is not up to the practitioners of a religion to make the judgement calls of their God. Only God can decide where you spend the after life, and those who decide that they will be the ones to tell you where you are going, have no true knowledge about their God. As for Christianity being a religion of forgiveness, it is, and it is also a religion of love.

    God has said that the only way to receive forgiveness is to believe on HIM, to worship only HIM, to reverence only HIM, and to do all this through HIS SON JESUS. He has also said that if you do not then you are in the camp of the enemy and that the enemy will be destroyed. He wants to forgive you, but He can not if you do not go to Him, through His Son, to get that forgiveness.

    He will forgive us "IF" we ask... but then we must also realize too, that He hates sin (wrong-doing)... &... we must also realize, that we must also repent (sincerely regret sinning & change for the better>>> quit sinning).

    Sin will be cast into hell... so... if we choose to sin, then we must follow where sin goes (to hell), because we are choosing to be sinners.

    If we are not believers, then we are sinners... to sin means >>> to do wrong, to do bad, wrong-doing, wrong thoughts, wrong feelings, wickedness, evil.

    If we do not believe in/follow Him (He is LOVE)... then we are followers of that which is NOT good... Love is>>> goodness, kindness, mercy,compassion, forgiveness, righteousness.

    You question shows your total lack of understanding of the Bible;

    Forgiveness is based on YOUR choice...not God's.

    He has ALREADY done everything necessary for your salvation through Christ's death on the cross......the rest is up to you Pal....

    It is YOUR chioce ....If you go to hell it is because you CHOOSE to.

    Got it?

    Grow up and accept responsibility for your sins and quit blaming God.

    Yes, you are not forgiven for choosing the wrong religion, even though there is no guidance, on the contrary, all information points to all organized religion being false. But boy if you choose the wrong religion or none at all you will burn in Hell for eternity!

    Don't worry about it, if God doesn't forgive you, I will. Consider yourself forgiven. Oh, by the way, what am I forgiving you for ?

    Let's phrase it another way, if your child knows killing is wrong and he goes out and kills somebody, the parents of the other child may forgive you but your child will still go to jail because there are consequences.
