Jason's fatal flaw is 'hubris' (pride) He over reaches himself, breaking his oath to the gods by betraying Medea and leaving her for another woman in order to improve his social position and power within Greek society. Medea was a 'foreigner' and would never be fully accepted by Greek society so he left her to find another more suitable woman/wife.
