You can not check the cache once it is cleared. On the other hand there is software on the marked that will save a trail of sites being viewed on the machine.

If you son is clearing the cache I would think that may raise an alarm. If you have asked him to not clear the cache and he does anyway, perhaps it is time for him to follow your rules. Password your PC and sign on when you are home with him. Besides, if you are viewing the cache after he is on I would think you are suspicious of his activities.

Now there is a file on your computer that does keep the history of what sites have been viewed. It is not known by most novice users. This file can not be deleted and you will find a few of these files on your PC. Go to Explorer and do a search for filename INDEX.DAT. When you open it, it will ask what program you wish to associate it with. Choose either Notepad or Wordpad and it will open. One of those index.dat files will show you all of the internet activity done on your machine.

    Good luck!

(PS - This is your best answer...hehe)

Although you can delete internet files and cookies, that information is always stored in index.dat files that run when windows is running (usually internet.exe is the process). They are hard to find and even harder to delete. Also, they are non-readable and require a decoder. I suggest you do some research on the web about this if you would like to be able to view this "deleted information."

Unfortunately no, once cleared they are gone. Its purposely designed this way, so that you can protect you identity. Unfortunately kids can also use it to cover their tracks, you'll have to set him up with a Windows limited account and prevent him from changing setting

You can always check the cookies unless he cleared them as well, and if you have a wireless router that keeps logs you check them too.

Well if its cleared you cant see what he did, so the only thing you can do is to sneak in and watch him when he's online.

If you're suspicious of what he is doing on the computer, try installing monitoring software (such as Spector- www.spectorsoft.com)
