Is it politically correct to wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy New Year?

For My Democrat Friends:

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere . Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

By accepting these greetings, you are accepting the aforementioned terms as stated. This greeting is not subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for herself/himself/others, and is void where prohibited by law and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wish.

Christmas has always been a Christian holiday. To wish anyone a Merry Christmas is a greeting filled with love. For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son...for you and me. Whether or not the recipient believes in Jesus as Lord or not, the message is given from you in love, much like a gift is given to another.

Over the last several years, however, people (especially in the US) have foresaken Christ in favor of "Tolerance." We musn't even appear to offend anyone! Yet, in the process we dilute the real meaning of our Christmas holiday, and integrate every Tom, Dick, and Harry festivity that has ever been conceived to celebrate -- whether or not it has anything to do with Christ.

You need to make a stand...you either serve Christ or the world. When you serve Christ you love others...you love them enough to tell the Gospel truth, rather than settle for mitigated tolerance.

Merry Christmas to you too. Or, as we say in Scotland (to combine Christmas and New Year, the latter being just as important a holiday) the compliments of the season to you.

Personally, I think anyone who sincerely wishes someone well, by whatever means, should have that greeting accepted in the spirit it was intended.

you should be free to wish anyone anything you wish , so long as it doesn't deprive one of their inalienable rights to life, liberty and personal property. no one has been granted any right to NOT BE OFFENDED. so if the wishing of merry Christmas, happy new year whether it be western , Hebrew or Chinese should be done so with no guilt and a feeling of rejoice in what ever your beliefs may be. If i were wished a happy Hanukkah or happy Ramadan or happy Kwanzaa, what ever that is , i will accept it as though they were wishing me something good. so MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE... and if you are offended then go F*** yourself

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year To You!!!!

Cute. Listen: You can say what you want to whomever you want it. All I know is this: My friend is hosting a Christmas-Kwanzaa-Hanukkah-Festivus party, and all she wanted were a few cheap wooden dreidels for the party. We spent nearly all day looking for them. The major big-box retailer had no Hanukkah section--just an electric menorah. And even though I'm not Jewish, how would that make you feel, that you couldn't get one small, cheap toy for a celebration? (Yahoo's dictionary doesn't even have "dreidel" in the dictionary!)

Recognizing that not everyone thinks and believes like you doesn't mean abandoning (or hiding) your faith.
