A hate crime on trial in Long Beach, CA. Where are the "civil rights leaders"?
In Long Beach, Ca., three white women were beaten by a gang of at least forty black "youth" on Halloween because they were white. Ten of them (so far) have been charged for hate crimes. As a main witness against those ten, an African American 18 year old single mother is being openly threatened by men "dressed in gang attire" to the point that she had to have a police escort to the courtroom. Her car was openly vandalized the same day that she described it to the defense attorney in court. Had this situation been reversed, this would be front page news. Yet I see no civil rights leader taking up the cause of the three white victims, nor the witness (one of the bravest persons I've ever read about lately). If today's civil rights leaders were truthful about their "quest", they'd be seeking community awareness and reaction to the racially-motivated hate crime committed, and the gangland harassment of a brave African American single mother. I don't see any of them in Long Beach.

Two standards. Black civil rights leaders are not interested in true civil rights, only in civil rights to a particular race. Ironic.

Well, most civil rights leaders are only going to defend their own race. It would just be too hard to defend everyone. And there aren't that many civil rights leaders who are white. Also, since it is considered by many civil rights leaders that our court system is bias toward whites, they wouldn't feel the need to defend whites from a white bias court system. This isn't what I'm promoting, just trying to answer your question as to why they aren't standing up in this situation.
