Okoze on Union/Hyde. Jason is the sushi chef and buys his fish fresh from San Mateo fish market every morning. Friendly place with delicious hot dishes as well as incredibly fresh sashimi. Modestly priced. Parking is challenging in Russian Hill

Just over the Golden Gate in Sausilito is the very best Sushi in all the Bay Area--SUSHI RAN. "Zagat Survey" rates it 27 on Food (compared, eg to Blowfish's 22). The food, which includes hot dishes and wine/saki bar and heavenly desserts as well as exquisitely mind-blowing sushi, is world class. The service, decor, presentation--all beautiful. Sushi Ran started as a little neighborhood joint and the word got out. It's right next to a good movie theater, too. You will have a great time there--the sushi chefs are adorable also! Sushi Ran 107 Caladonia (just above Tourist drag, Bridgeway) 415 332-3620 Lunch Monday-Friday 11:45 am-2:30 pm Dinner Monday-Saturday 5:30-11:00 pm Sunday 5:00-10:30 pm Check out their pretty website: www.sushiran.com

"Noname" Sushi, located in the mission. It's a little place, the glass is usually fogged up. It's actually not called "Noname" but the name is so faded noone really knows what it's called, that's why everyone calls it noname. The price is really cheap, and the rolls are delicious. Especially the spicy tuna.

Suppenkuche is a German place down close to the Civic midsection, that has good food and a super/relaxing vibe. additionally attempt Pizza Inferno on Fillmore close to Japantown. The Yellow Submarine has super sandwiches, on the N-Judah line.

Ebisu at 9th and Irving. Delicious. The 49er roll, dragon roll and hamachi nigiri is awesome.

Okazuya is not bad. They have 3 locations that I know of. One is around 41st and Judah. One is around 30th and Noriega. The last one is around 25th and Taraval.
