How is it that a relationship can ruin a job? How does one prevent it?

If you call their work too much - if they spend more time dealing with relationship issues rather then the work at hand - it can ruin a job.

Human nature says we'll meet and have various types of relationships where ever we interact. The problem with office relationships is that when things go sour you still have to work around the individual. The question is how much are you willing to risk at work, especially if it's a supervisor. Smaller the office, bigger the risk. It's fine to test the waters but be careful if you go too far in the office. If possible, try not to let others know but that's hard to hide.

They mighht resent anytime at all that the person spends on work related things at home of in the event that the working career person is a high power career person or just a professional, sometimes the spouse is jealous of that and can become almost like your enemy not your friend, for example not genuinely being happy for you when you have a success at work such as a promotion,they look at it as a threat, especially if they haven't achieved as much, eg. education,etc. If a person resents someones success and don't see themselves as wanting and cheering for the best for someone then they wouldn't be my partner. With friends like that who needs enemies.sorry to be so long winded.
